The short term rental rules in Austin have changed

August 2, KXAN | On August 2, a federal judged ruled that those who own a home in Austin - but don’t live there - can now rent it out on short-term rental platforms. Previously, many owners in these areas either had to live at the property or opt for long-term leases.

XCharge North America opening U.S. manufacturing facility in Hays County

August 3, KVUE | The Level-3 electric vehicle charger and energy storage device maker, XCharge, selected Hays County for its new 3,500 SQFT manufacturing facility. The company expects further expansion in the coming years, stating that Hays County was the perfect location given its scalable facilities, land availability, and local community.

1,200 acre nature preserve to open in Williamson County

August 1, KXAN | This Hill Country Conservancy, named the Pecan Springs Karst Preserve, was donated by an anonymous landowner to preserve the “econologically sensitive” land. After opening, the area will be used for conservation, research, educational outreach, and public recreation.
